Jake Longstreth’s landscape paintings are incredibly simple and beautiful. I’m fascinated by the “strip mall” culture that has taken over many suburbs, and these are exactly what I’m referring to when I’m trying to describe what it means. I’m not a big fan of strip malls and restaurant chains, but if they’re painted by Jake, I’d hang it up in my house.
