GM says PUMAs are the answer
This thing looks ridiculous. And by ridiculous I mean, where do I buy one?
GM and Segway announced today a new idea for personal urban mobility, dubbed P.U.M.A. (Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility) with the intent of lowering vehicle congestion in urban areas. It can achieve speeds of 35 MPH, a distance of 35 miles on one charge, for the price of 35 cents per charge.
From a coolness standpoint, this thing looks horrid. The Ghostbuster Car caution tape on the side isn’t my thing. Neither are the training wheels on the front and the back. The 3d rendering I saw is much more “Minority Report” cool than this real life version.
That being said, GM actually impressed me with this. It shows they’re thinking different and are moving past H2 Hummers finally. 35 cents for 35 miles? That’s something I can get behind.
