Flickr user ussiwojima has an incredible collection of a lot of things, but currently I’m enthralled by his extensive vintage sugar cube packet collection. The typography is really nice, but the illustrations are my favorite part. See more after the jump.
We’re excited to announce that we’ll be hosting an event with Natalie & Ben Davis of Canoe this Friday.
Canoe is a collaboration between a designer and a butcher who share a love for vintage workwear, well-worn boots, and crafting goods by hand. Founded in 2010, we offer authentic American heritage brands, like Woolrich, Pendleton, and L.L. Bean, along with modern hand tooled leather accessories. Canoe goods are crafted with a sartorial eye and workhorse materials to last a lifetime. Available at www.canoe.bigcartel.com.
I stumbled across the Vintage Technology website yesterday while surfing Reddit. It’s a wonderful resource if you’re into retro design. I’m loving the vintage calculators section. The Casio H1 pictured above is still sitting somewhere in a drawer in my parents house, next to this TI-33.
My good friend Genevieve just shared these awesome vintage United States Travel Bureau and National Parks Service posters with me. The posters were created in response to the Great Depression, in part to provide artwork for public buildings while also assisting struggling artists. It may be time to make some new ones, so the government can help out artists in these times of economic woe.

I think it is safe to say that this may be one of the most up front safety pamphlets I have ever seen. I have never seen the dangers of hiding in a pile of leaves or locking yourself in an ice box spelled out in such a frank manner. This retro safety manual does just that.
