Whose Coat is that Jacket You’re Wearing?

ballard1

Mike Ballard has been stealing coats for the past 10 years and meticulously archiving all the items found within. Ballard will present all of the chronicled belongings in his new show “Whose Coat Is That Jacket You’re Wearing?”

I am not quite sure how I feel about the theft as a form of expression, but I can’t deny that I am completely captivated by the absurd items that Ballard put together. More examples after the fold…

Bad Dads

Last week I posted about the R&R collection of Bill Murray art, but considering I am a devoted Wes Anderson fan, I may be even more excited about this.

‘Bad Dads’  is a group show tribute to the films of Wes Anderson (nearly every Wes Anderson character has family issues, notably father issues!).  The show will debut with a special Halloween party on Saturday, October 30th at San Francisco’s newest art space, LoPo Gallery

It looks like there are going to be various mediums and all of the pieces will be for sale through the gallery’s online store. Spokeblog has posted a small preview of what the show is all about and you can see my favorites after the jump…

Kirill Kuletski

Moscow born photographer, Kirill Kuletski, has some very interesting work. Once a designer, now a full time photographer, he successfully  captures a very quiet and surreal mood in a powerful way.

Hatch Show Print

Hatch Show Print

A group of us took a little field trip Saturday to the Austin Museum of Art to see their exhibit on Hatch Show Print. It was incredible to see the beautiful posters alongside many of their corresponding wood engravings. It’s truly amazing. If you’re in Austin and dig the hell out of letterpress the way we do, I recommend you take a trip down there and see it all for yourself.

The show runs through May 9th and you can find more information here.
