What Sculptures In The Future Will Look Like

Wire Self Portrait Sculpture

In the future, we’ll all have hoverboards (that apparently won’t work on water), iPads that can stream Family Guy on Hulu and all sculptures will be made out of CAT-5 cables. Kasey McMahon may be ahead of her time (or visiting us from the future) as she has already gotten started on that trend and created this self portrait.

Sculpting On Ice

Dutch sculptor Ap Verheggen decided that you needed to see what climate change looks like. He’s not stringing together a series of famous actors filmed on a white background completing each other’s sentences. He put a big ass sculpture on an iceberg in Greenland and has a camera filming the thing 24 hours a day. You can watch the sculpture’s inevitable demise over the next 2-3 years as this chunk o’ ice melts away. I give it 0 stars for being action packed television and 5 stars for novelty in raising awareness.
