Laura Bifano’s illustrations of animals as 8-bit characters are an interesting take on digital renderings. She says they “[reconcile her] fascination with the natural world and computer game aesthetics”. There are 8 posted on her website thus far, but she has two more left to be posted still. You can buy prints on her Etsy shop.
Jason Dean of The Best Part has his Fortune Posters, which are based on real fortune cookies, on sale in his store. When you order one of his Fortune Posters he randomly selects one of the 8 and sends it to you. I hope I get the one that says my life is full of luxury.
Our homies from Chicago, The Post Family, recently did a Levis printmaking residency in San Fransisco. During this residency, Chad Kouri made these two 24″x 18″ rainbow-rolled bodacious wood type prints on newsprint! Both are available in their shop. Before you steal someone’s lunch from the fridge, check out this supreme interview with the family after the jump.
Gavin Potenza and Liz Meyer aka Script & Seal just opened a shop full of rad products! Check it out their hand dyed totes, prints, and posters here.
Jude Buffum‘s work is a sight to see in all of its 8-bit glory. Though his work isn’t confined to the digital conversion style, its my favorite of his. I’ll probably be buying a print of his Saved By The Bell print. More after the jump.
