“Bad” can me lots of things. It can mean you’re bad because you kick ass, bad because you beat up innocent people or bad because you’re food and you’ve spoiled. Adam Sidwell decided to use being “Bad” as his only requirement for all the characters in his 52 Bad Dudes series where he illustrates one each week and uploads it to his blog.

My good friend Genevieve just shared these awesome vintage United States Travel Bureau and National Parks Service posters with me. The posters were created in response to the Great Depression, in part to provide artwork for public buildings while also assisting struggling artists. It may be time to make some new ones, so the government can help out artists in these times of economic woe.

The WPA undoubtedly has played an important part in American history for many reasons, though their posters continue to be some of my favorite from that era. I recently found the Library of Congress’ collection of scanned WPA posters. There are over 900 that I have spent the better part of an hour flipping through. I’ve gathered my favorites here.
