Awesome typographic movie posters from Jerod Gibson. He has taken the memorable quotes from classic movies and formed them into interesting icons that represent the film. Check out more examples after the jump and purchase posters from the series here.
“All we wanted was a simple, modern world map. When our search turned up nothing but glossy posters and cheap antique reproductions, we knew it was time to design our own.”
Ohio based designers Jen Adrion and Omar Noory run the small collective, These Are Things, with wonderfully simple and well executed designs. Take the time to check out a few examples after the break and consider the US map added to my Christmas list.
This poster, for the band SEX BOB-OMB (a fictional band in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) is the work of our very talented friend Kevin Tong. If you’ve ever been to Flatstock or Renegade you’re probably already familiar with his work. If you aren’t, you should check it out. Kevin creates some of the most intricate and detailed posters you’ll ever see. The complexity of his work blows my minimalist mind to bits.
The best part about the SEX BOB-OMB poster is that Kevin documented his design process and created a 2-minute clip for YouTube which can be seen after the jump.

Similar amusing posters have been created in attempt to solve other design dilemmas, but this one is among the most useful. Do you need a new logo? See it full size here.

It’s a good thing I found Michael Paukner‘s work yesterday or otherwise you’d be at a total loss for where the next solar eclipse paths are leading up to 2025. You also wouldn’t know how many satellites every country has up in space or where all the oldest trees are in the world. It’s a really good thing I found his work.
