Back For the Future

NikeMag

I find myself on sneaker blogs far too often. Especially since I only virtually collect them. However, this my internet friends, is a game changer. Just in case you have yet to see this elsewhere, click below to watch Kevin Durant, Tinker himself, and Doc raise the hype of the release of the Nike Mag.

This so happens to be the shoe that Marty McFly wore in Back to the Future II! In an amazing effort, Nike has teamed up with Michael J Fox, The Michael J Fox Foundation, and eBay to help cure Parkinson’s and auction off 1500 pairs the most famous shoes never made (however this version does do not have power laces).

Geoff McFetridge x Nike

Amazing new pieces by Geoff McFetridge were used to make 24 unique pairs of Nike Dunk SB sneakers. Wait, what? Yeah I know, totally incredible. So each pair will be auctioned off later this month to benefit the MOCA Foundation. Read more about the collaboration here. See the beautifully simple original drawings after the jump.

Paulo Arraian

Paulo Arraian‘s work is speaking to me.  I can’t get enough of his style, it’s stunning in its boldness and complexity. I originally saw the pieces he did for Nike on ffffound and after further inspection I realized that Paulo was no one hit wonder.  His entire body of work is on par with or better than his pieces for Nike.  Much more to see after the jump…

Air Jordan vs. Santa

AirJordan_Santa

In this retro Nike commercial Michael Jordan takes it to ole Saint Nicholas on the hardwood. Santa might be able to shimmy down chimneys with his Christmas magic, but the jolly dude has no chance against the greatest basketball player ever.

At the end of the game, MJ shows his sportsmanship by sharing a sweaty hug and Santa agrees to distribute sneakers at a discounted rate.

More of Tim Barber

barb1

A couple weeks back I posted Tim Barber’s Bridge Runners. Now I am happy to show you a similar series commissioned by Nike. Be sure to flip through NSW Running and Destroyers. Both series capture great documentation of awesome activities. I posted my favorite images from both sets after the jump.
