Sunny Side Up
The extremely talented and funny Andy Smith has an amazing show up at Soma Gallery in Bristol. I wish I could see it in person, but the internet will have to do. See more after the jump or on Andy’s blog.

This past weekend we happened to be in Dallas at the same time as Jon Contino, the new yorker responsible for filling the internet with loads of hand lettering and starting a rad clothing brand called CXXVI (the new site is sooo smooth).
Jon is super friendly and full of great stories. We were incredibly honored to have him stop by our show at We Are 1976 and hang with us! If you’ve been living under a rock, I’ve curated some samples of his work just for you.
Just a friendly reminder to go check out the Alphabattle being put on by the good folks over at Lettercult. While Alphabattle isn’t actually a “battle” or competition, it does give those interested in letter form and type design the opportunity to show off their skills. Submissions range from actual designed type to illustrative interpretations. The current Alphabattle is half way through the alphabet and so far the work submitted has been outstanding.
If you want to start submitting, you have a little over a week before the N deadline hits. For more information you can take a peek at the details here.
M just wrapped up, and we’ve included a few of our favorite submission after the jump. The illustration above was done by Rory Phillips.
Internet friend and world class illustrator Chris Piascik recently collaborated with Milltag to create this rad type driven cycling jersey! I’m personally excited that Chris had this opportunity because he’s such a passionate cyclist. Bike culture is one of his main sources of inspiration found throughout his body of work. See more of Chris’ bike pieces after the jump.
Katie Daisy‘s work has been blasted across the web recently, but I thought you should take another peek at her folky hand-lettering.
