Rare Magazine commissioned Casey to photograph and produce this feature on the home of local photographer Dave Mead for their current living issue. Special thanks to Dave and his wonderful family for all of their help during the shoot and for having such amazing taste and style in general. Also, big ups to Adam Fortner from Creative and Sons for his help with styling.
Tribeza Magazine just published a set of images shot by Jay B highlighting three popular east side eateries. See the other two images after the jump and read the digital version of the magazine.
Stephen Wilkes photographed a Wal-Mart for 24 hours straight and has compiled this time-lapse video of what continual consumption looks like. His photos, a couple of which are after the jump, are published in the most recent issue of Fortune Magazine.
It’s a known fact in the editorial world that just because you were hired to produce a piece of work doesn’t mean it’ll make the chopping block for printing. Chris Ware probably already knew this and just hoped for the best when he produced this satirical view on the state of the economy. Thankfully, despite being rejected, he shared it with the public. With drunken execs dancing on ugly sky-scrapers and homes “under water” in the gulf, its a pretty bold statement. Big ups to Chris for going bold.
Our good friend Robin Finlay was enlisted by the folks at October Custom Publishing to art direct and produce the first issue of Twelve Baskets, which is embedded above, for Mobile Loaves & Fishes. Our friends Adam Voorhes, Matt Rainwaters and Ryann Ford all also contributed photography. It’s all pretty impressive work, but Ryann’s work is definitely a must see, as I can assure you that you’ve never seen the homeless population’s living arrangements photographed from an architectural photographer’s perspective. Click on the embedded flash layout above to view it fullscreen and flip through.
If you’re in the Austin area and driving south on I-35 you’ll see Danny (the individual on the front cover) on a billboard close to Riverside and I-35. The billboard is there to help raise awareness of the plight of the homeless population as well as to help get donations to buy Danny and his partner Maggie a home. Their story is incredibly touching, so I’d recommend flipping through the magazine to read it.
Finally, if you’d like to help Danny and Maggie through Mobile Loaves & Fishes Habitat on Wheels Program, you can text “Danny” to 20222 or if you’d like to donate to ML&F’s catering truck program you can text “MLF” to 20222.
PUBLIC SCHOOL is a group of creative folk working on the east side of Austin. 2 photographers and 5 graphic designers doing our best to show you everyone's best.
