Kids Reenact Sabotage

Screen Shot 2012-05-15 at 9.29.38 AM

James Winters got with his wife, two kids, and his nephew last weekend to produce this tribute to MCA. What better (and cuter) way to pay tribute than to dress up kids as adults and have them reenact Sabotage, one of the greatest music videos of all time? That’s exactly what they did. Check it out after the jump.

Cain’s Arcade

Here’s your little does of “humanity isn’t completely doomed” for the day. A 9 year old boy builds an entire arcade out of cardboard in his Dad’s used auto-parts store. He gets one customer, filmmaker Nirvan, who then crowd sources a ton of people to come play this little boy’s arcade. The end result is the little boy saying it was the greatest day of his life.

Beauty Is Embarrassing

The world of Wayne White is a place I want to experience. He’s worn many hats such as a painter, sculptor, cartoonist, puppeteer, set designer, art director, animator, and illustrator. He created and voiced Randy among many other contributions to Pee Wee’s Playhouse. I find his attitude and approach to making extremely contagious.

All of this energy and humor is captured in Neil Berkely’s documentary, Beauty is Embarrassing, which will premier at SXSW next Saturday! Go check it out. Below you can see the incredible trailer and some of Wayne’s paintings.

The 90′s

I just had a major 90′s flashback after sifting through the 48 picture collection of 90′s nostalgia that Buzzfeed has pulled together. Of all 90′s things, I think this America Online screen grab may sum up that decade for me more than any other.

File this under “Ideas I Wish I Had Had First”. Brian Joseph Davis has created a Tumblr called “The Composites” that seeks to create sketches of famous literary characters by running their descriptions through police suspect sketching software. Check it out. Above is Judge Holden, from Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian.
