Camping should be fun and about having an adventure in your own awesome way. That’s the attitude behind this new brand that does an incredible job documenting their adventures while having a good time. They make well designed gear for everyone, not just bearded mountain climbers (male or female). So check out this rad Portland based company Poler and pick up some camp vibes!
Have you ever wanted a secret door that was triggered by a book on a bookshelf, but were missing a place for that doorway to lead? Well never fear, you can now at least feed that desire on a slightly less ambitious level with this secret book light switch. It’s a clever idea and was designed by Ben Light. His pre-made kit is currently sold out, but I don’t doubt that with a little ingenuity and a few minutes in your locally owned hardware store, that you could put one together yourself.
Christian Annyas pulled together this great set of Beer Stamps from the Smithsonian’s website. Beer Stamps were the manner in which the government taxed the alcohol. They sold these stamps, which would then need to be affixed to kegs and bottles at the time of manufacture. It’s amazing to see how detailed the engravings were considering their size.
With every passing generation, the advice we give to the youth of our society changes. Using his great-aunt as a stand-in for his grandmother, he produced this set.
In a great oversight on our part, we have never featured the work of Ty Wilkins. I just ran across this poster he did for a design lecture he did at UNT here in Texas in October, and it’s a good reason to also show some other stuff he’s done. I’m particularly fond of his work for Target, which you can see after the jump.
