Show & Tell

We have been receiving a plethora of great submissions from folks through email, but in an effort to be more organized about it we’ve decided to create a flickr group for just that. Head on over to PUBLIC SCHOOL Show & Tell to submit your newest/coolest work. We’ll file through everything and post up the stuff that fits.

Saved By The Belding

Our very own Matt Genitempo is on a month long road trip with his way better looking and waaaay smarter twin, Drew. While hanging out in Boston he ran in to Mr. Belding AKA Dennis Haskins. We’re sad we’re not along for the trip Matt! After the jump we’ve got a great video of Belding clips. Enjoy.

Ray Ban Mural

Will recently worked for the super rad Ace Hotel and was out in Palm Springs creating hand painted signage for their Coachella event Desert Gold. He was fortunate to work with Levi’s, Converse, and Ray Ban (not be confused with Ran Ban). In addition to creating the event identity, poster, and signage he also painted a mural for Ray Ban (shown above).

You can get a more in depth look into his adventure on Poppytalk.

Drunk as Sh*t

Matt and Cody have teamed up to create a new character, “Drunk as Shit”. Why? They aren’t sure, but stay tuned as prints, buttons, and a possible book are on the way.

The Making of The GOOD Magazine Cover

Thanks to everyone for the incredibly positive feedback we’ve gotten on the GOOD Magazine cover design thus far. Cody and Will were the initial guys on the concept who then asked Casey and I to help concept and photograph it. As a means of experimentation while we were building, I set up my camera in the closest position to the final shot as possible. I ended up photographing nearly every tiny change we made and as a bi-product of said experimentation was able to produce a stop motion making of video. Enjoy it after the jump.

GOOD Magazine

Good Magazine

Run down to your local bookstore and pick up a copy of this quarter’s GOOD Magazine. Cody, Casey, Will and Jay B worked together to produce this cover for their Neighborhood issue. There are four different covers total, so don’t get sad if you don’t see ours on the front of the rack, just look behind that copy and find it waiting to be read.

Check out Cody and Matt’s Neighborhood flag that is also featured in the magazine after the jump as well as a bigger shot of the cover details. Also, you can see the “making of video” here.

SXSW 2010

Jonathan has a new set of photos on his site that were shot during SXSW this year. The street portraits were shot for Rare Magazine’s blog which can be viewed here and here. Everything else was shot for either the Portland Mercury or just to document the madness.

Will Bryant x Converse

Will spent most of his SXSW working for Converse over at the Levi’s Fader Fort. He drew a mural and was customizing sneakers for bands back in the swanky VIP area. (Don’t you worry, he still gets wedgies, noogies, and swirlies.)

You can find out more details in his drawn recap after the jump and see more SXSW pics on Poppytalk.
