Wow. I just came across this angelic music video for Rocky Votolato by director AG Rojas. I have been following Rocky’s music since Waxwing and I’m not sure how this one got by me. Rojas has completed quite a few projects with musicians such as Jeremy Enigk and No Age. You can view the video for “Sparklers” after the jump and view the rest of Rojas’ work here.
Producer Harry Jen (voice, animation) and Boinx Multimedia (post production) kill it with this stop motion piece. Plus the song is a jam! Get your dance on after the jump.
This edition of the Audio Document series was done in conjunction with our friends at American Drink who helped pick half of the songs. It includes 14 hand-picked songs to enjoy with the beverage of your choice. Grab a copy of the Audio Document here and then sit down with that beverage. If you’re having a hard time selecting the drink, just keep the words of American Drink in mind:
We’ve become spoiled and lazy here in the States. Instead of crafting cocktails from scratch, many turn to pre-made mixers full of food coloring and high-fructose corn syrup to help mask the taste of vodka—OF VODKA, a drink that’s rated based on the lack of taste. Meanwhile, the vodka industry pumps out flavored varieties to appeal to the juvenile tastes of a nation that is number one in the world in soft drink consumption.
America, we can do better.
Big thanks to American Drink for being a cool friend-in-the-blogosphere and for helping select the tunes!
The Hype Machine’s Music Blog Zeitgeist 2010 launched this Monday, featuring a collection of the very best music of 2010 as picked by bloggers. The countdowns are broken down by top artists, albums, and songs. Willy Woods Bryant, Rand Renfrow, Chad Kouri and I are just a few who submitted artwork representing bands on the list of the 50 best artists. A few collabs here ladies and gents.
Christian Helms of Helms Workshop teamed up with Beef & Pie to create the video for the single, “Only in My Double Mind” on Centro-matic’s upcoming album, “Candidate Waltz”. I’ve been a big fan of Centro-matic for years, and I’m more than a tad jealous of this. Great song and great concept. Christian always gets the cool jobs.
Video after the jump.
