Adam Voorhes – Texas Mental Hospital Brains

Good friend and great Austin based photographer, Adam Voorhes, has released some photographs from his project photographing malformed human brains. They are part of a collection of human brains collected by the Texas State Mental Hospital about 4 decades ago. Check out the series as well as the explanation Adam did after the jump.

Frank Public Art Mural

Recently our friends at Frank asked us to contribute to the Frank Public Art wall. Rather than try to compete with the amazing illustrations that the previous artists have done, we decided to take it in more of a conceptual direction. The end result was our solution to the parking shortage downtown. Here are a couple extra spots that folks can use free of charge. You’re welcome Austin.

Apartment Therapy

Chris Perez of Apartment Therapy recently came by the studio to do a tech tour of our space and shoot some of the equipment we use. It’s a nice little feature, and we’re really excited to be included on what we all consider a great site. Check it out here.

Chuck & Jake Fan Appreciation Night

Free beer! You love that right? Well thanks to our friends Chuck & Jake, you can have some tomorrow after work from 6-8 at our studio (RSVP here). They’re releasing some new clothes in their winter line, so wanted to show em’ off and meet new folks. Come on by to meet them, check out some of their clothes, and to tell Cody he needs to clean up his beard.

Congrats to Gowalla

Finding out about Facebook purchasing Gowalla made for some good news over the weekend. We’ve got a few friends and have been lucky enough to work with Gowalla a few times over the years, so are really proud to hear that Facebook values them us much as we do. They’ve always been a great company whose focus on design has gone a long way over here at our office. I’m sure that focus will make a big impact with Facebook. Congrats guys!
